In JART’s first work, “Snatchable Purse,” a man (Junpei Goto) holding a cloth bag and a man (Shushuke Fukutoku) trying to snatch the bag tussle again and again. The tattered cloth bag, representing the calories consumed in the heat of battle, will be on exhibit. This work was shown in this February in the Kyoto Art Lounge Exhibition’s “group exhibition of twenty noteworthy young artists.” A performance by Goto and Fukutoku is also scheduled to be held during Roppongi Art Night 2018.

ARTISTS

JART

JART was launched in 2018 as a project aiming to combine laughter and art, while transmitting to the world forms of expressions both fun and moving. It’s a jointly project by partners who ordinarily work in the field of comedy. They aim for artistic expressions that surpass genres, with the worldview of “guys no one has ever seen before.”
