Would you like to join in creating an installation? We’ll apply brightly colored pieces of film to windows with large openings. Please enjoy a fantastical world interwoven with the colors and light of glass. The finished work will be on display until 18:00 on May 27 (Sun).

ARTISTS

Asae Soya

Received her PhD in the Doctor's Course (latter program), Graduate School of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts. She continues to make works, both in paintings and installations. Overflowing with light and color, her work has a dynamic, contemporary sensibility and gives viewers physical sensations that surpass the sense of sight. In 2001 she won the Grand Prix in the Shell Art Award competition and in 2002 the VOCA Prize (Grand Prix) in the Vision of Contemporary Art exhibition (VOCA Exhibition) and in 2013 the Yokohama Culture Prize’s Art Encouragement Prize as well as the Kanagawa Culture Future Prize, among others. In 2013 she stayed in New York under the aegis of the International Studio & Curatorial Program (ISCP).
