Electronic appliances such as tube televisions and bar code readers are reincarnated into “instruments of electromagnetic people” and formed into an ensemble. Through the static electricity of the tube televisions and scan of the laser, this new performance utilizes a structure where the “pattern becomes sound.”

ARTISTS

Ei Wada + Nicos Orchest-Lab

Wada is an artist and musician. When he was just a few years old, he became convinced that a music festival was awaiting him in a place where there stands a tower shaped like a giant crab leg, embedded with a CRT television. This conviction still lies at the core of his practice today. He leads the Open Reel Ensemble, a group that performs with reel-to-reel tape recorders. Since its launch in 2015, he has also been involved with the project ELECTRONICOS FANTASTICOS!, which revives disused consumer electronics as musical instruments.
