From the group Oreka TX, who perform using the traditional
txalaparta percussion instrument of Spain’s Basque region, this
stage spectacle takes on the concept of “toys for giants.” Two
giants use puppets dressed as Oreka TX to beat the txalaparta
while a tumbler doll plays a bugle, and the sounds of
instruments echo through the “snowglobe.” Performers emerge
in
response to the music, creating a fantasy world that unfolds in overwhelming proportions.
