This installation of 300 white old shirts frames the quite time after the shirts' old role as clothes has finished, and before the start of their new existence.
The installation also tries to capture what can be seen as the life of the thread through its transformations. It will be an installation that makes the most of the height of the entrance of the National Art Center, Tokyo.

ARTISTS

Naoko Yoshimoto

Born in Hyogo Prefecture in 1972. With the support from the Agency of Cultural Affairs and the Pola Art Foundation she traveled to and studied in the UK. Through the momories that remain in old clothes she creates artworks that make the spectators reflect on “life” and “death”.
Exhibited at the National Art Center, Tokyo, at the “16th DOMANI : The Art of Tomorrow” Exhibition. Currently based in Kyoto.
