TANeFUNe “A Seed is a Ship”
sailing project

The ship TANeFUNe, built over three years from 2010 in Maizuru, Kyoto under the supervision of Hibino, Katsuhiko sailed the Sea of Japan to Niigata last summer and docked at a string of 32 ports to take on a cargo of memories of people met along the way. A documentary film of the project FuneTane Scope screened outdoors will send TANeFUNe floating on a sea of memories.

*“A seed is a ship” derives from the idea of a seed as a vehicle to carry memories.
