Hideharu Fukasaku Gallery Roppongi
Special Event
Aoi Miyake, Elevator debut
Aoi Miyake, winner of the Grand Prize at the 10th FEI
International Print Award, an art print contest held by
affiliated art galleries, will hold the exhibit -Sparkles Hiding
in Everyday Life-. Miyake draws photographs of scenery in
everyday life and turns them into art prints. When turning
photographs into drawings, she simplifies contours and shapes of
shadows, sees and combines color palettes as if they are
puzzles, and tries to create a composition that destroys the
master-servant relationship between main and sub-elements. Her
works contain many, carefully applied colors that create a
unified tone and seem to give off a warm glow as a whole. Her
works centered around everyday scenery reveal the artist's
unconscious perspective, allowing the viewer to perhaps sense
the fine subtleties of the heart. Visitors to the exhibit will
receive a free postcard of a work (while supplies last).
